April 2024 Entry

We have now sown all our spring crops and have begun welcoming some newborn calves into the herd. After calving, we leave them in for a day or two, and once satisfied all is well we turn them out into the field. It has been nice to see the animals out enjoying the grass after a long Winter inside. Finally, we have seen some sun! 

Elsewhere, the Winter sown crops are growing rapidly and have had some doses of fertiliser as well as a spray plan to help with unwanted weeds and diseases as well as helping with growth.

We are also ready to plant the sunflowers, just need the soil to warm up a little and it will be all systems go!

At home we have 5 new rescue chickens which are a nice addition to the family! Arlo the dog is loving them and won’t leave their side. They are very generous with their egg laying so far too!
